Lahori Aloo Palak is a classic Lahori dish that combines tender spinach with flavorful potatoes, creating a delicious and nutritious vegetarian meal.
Ingredients
- 4 cups fresh spinach, chopped
- 2 large potatoes, peeled and diced
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-inch ginger, grated
- 1 green chili, chopped
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 cup water
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Add garlic, ginger, and green chili. Sauté for a minute.
- Add tomatoes, turmeric, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Cook until the tomatoes are soft.
- Add potatoes and water. Cover and cook until the potatoes are tender.
- Add chopped spinach and cook for a few minutes until wilted.
- Sprinkle garam masala and mix well. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
- Lahori Aloo Palak is ready to be served hot with naan or rice.
