Ingredients

  • 4 large potatoes, boiled and mashed
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup fresh coriander, chopped
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp chaat masala
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the mashed potatoes, onion, green chilies, coriander, cumin seeds, red chili powder, garam masala, chaat masala, bread crumbs, and salt.
  2. Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into round patties.
  3. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and shallow fry the patties until golden brown and crispy on both sides.
  4. Remove the patties from the pan and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  5. Serve hot with mint chutney or tamarind sauce.
