Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2-3 green chilies, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 tsp ginger paste
- 1 tsp garlic paste
- 1/2 tsp cumin powder
- 1/2 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp red chili powder
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- 1/4 cup bread crumbs
- 1 egg
- Oil for frying
- 1 cup yogurt
- 1/2 cup tomato puree
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1/2 tsp kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves)
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, onion, green chilies, cilantro, ginger paste, garlic paste, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder, salt, bread crumbs, and egg. Mix well to combine.
- Shape the mixture into small meatballs (koftas).
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and fry the koftas until they are golden brown. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add the yogurt and tomato puree. Cook for a few minutes until the oil separates from the mixture.
- Add the garam masala and kasuri methi to the gravy and mix well.
- Gently place the fried koftas into the gravy, cover the pan, and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with naan or rice.
