Ingredients

  • 1 kg chicken, cut into pieces
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 3 tomatoes, pureed
  • 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 cup fresh cream
  • 1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a handi or deep pan. Add cumin seeds and let them crackle.
  2. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  3. Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for 2 minutes.
  4. Add chicken pieces and cook until they turn white.
  5. Stir in tomato puree, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Cook until the oil separates.
  6. Whisk the yogurt and add it to the chicken. Cook for 5-7 minutes.
  7. Add garam masala and mix well.
  8. Pour in the fresh cream and cook for another 5 minutes.
  9. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
