Ingredients
- 1 kg chicken, cut into pieces
- 1 cup yogurt
- 2 onions, finely sliced
- 1/2 cup ghee or oil
- 1/2 cup almond paste
- 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
- 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons fresh coriander leaves, chopped
Instructions
- Heat ghee or oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook until golden brown.
- Add the chicken pieces and ginger-garlic paste. Cook until the chicken is no longer pink.
- Stir in the yogurt, almond paste, and all the spices. Mix well and cook for 5 minutes.
- Pour in enough water to cover the chicken. Cover the pot and simmer for 40-45 minutes, or until the chicken is tender.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
