Lahori Dum Aloo (lahori Dum Aloo)
Lahori Dum Aloo is a traditional Pakistani dish that originated in the city of Lahore. It is a flavorful and aromatic potato curry that is slow-cooked to perfection.
Ingredients
- 1 kg baby potatoes, boiled and peeled
- 1 cup yogurt
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, pureed
- 1/4 cup oil
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute. Then, add the tomato puree and cook until the oil separates.
- Whisk the yogurt and add it to the pan along with turmeric, red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and salt. Cook for a few minutes.
- Add the boiled potatoes to the pan and coat them with the masala. Cover and cook on low heat for 20-25 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with naan or rice.
