Ingredients
- 500g chicken, cut into pieces
- 1 cup fresh fenugreek leaves (methi)
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, pureed
- 1/2 cup yogurt
- 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1/2 cup water
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add the chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a few minutes. Then, add the chicken pieces and cook until they turn white.
- Stir in the tomato puree, turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt. Cook until the oil separates from the masala.
- Whisk the yogurt and add it to the chicken. Cook for 5 minutes on medium heat.
- Add the fresh fenugreek leaves and garam masala. Pour in water, cover the pan, and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes.
- Once the chicken is cooked and the gravy has thickened, remove from heat and serve hot.
