Ingredients
- 500g mutton, cut into pieces
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 3 tomatoes, pureed
- 1/4 cup yogurt
- 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- 4-5 green chilies, slit
- 1/4 cup oil
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a few minutes. Then, add the mutton pieces and cook until they are browned.
- Stir in the tomato puree, yogurt, and all the spices. Mix well and cook for 5-7 minutes.
- Pour in 2 cups of water, cover the pan, and let the mutton cook on low heat until tender (about 45 minutes to 1 hour).
- Once the mutton is cooked and the gravy has thickened, garnish with green chilies and fresh coriander leaves.
