Ingredients
- 6 slices of white bread
- 4 cups whole milk
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
- 1/4 cup ghee (clarified butter)
- Assorted nuts and saffron for garnish
Instructions
- Trim the crusts off the bread slices and cut them into triangles.
- In a deep pan, heat the ghee and fry the bread slices until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, heat the milk, sugar, and cardamom powder. Let it simmer until the milk reduces and thickens slightly.
- Add the fried bread slices to the milk mixture and let them soak for a few minutes.
- Transfer the Shahi Tukray to a serving dish, garnish with assorted nuts and saffron, and refrigerate until ready to serve.
