Ingredients

  • 1 kg chicken, cut into pieces
  • 2 onions, finely sliced
  • 3 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1/4 cup yogurt
  • 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/4 cup fresh coriander leaves, chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • 4 tbsp oil

Instructions

  1. Heat oil on a tawa or large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  3. Add sliced onions and sauté until golden brown.
  4. Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for 2 minutes.
  5. Add chicken pieces and cook until they are no longer pink.
  6. Stir in chopped tomatoes, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Cook until the tomatoes are soft.
  7. Whisk yogurt and garam masala together, then add to the chicken. Cook for another 5-7 minutes.
  8. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
