Lake Bohinj Trout with Herbs (Bohinjska Postrv s Zelišči)
Bohinjska Postrv s Zelišči, or Lake Bohinj Trout with Herbs, is a traditional Slovenian dish that showcases the fresh flavors of the region's pristine waters and abundant herbs.
Ingredients
- 4 whole trout, cleaned and gutted
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh dill, chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh chives, chopped
- 2 lemons, sliced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat the stovetop grill to medium-high heat.
- Season the inside and outside of the trout with salt and pepper.
- Stuff the trout with the chopped herbs and lemon slices.
- Brush the trout with olive oil.
- Place the trout on the grill and cook for 6-7 minutes on each side, or until the fish is cooked through and the skin is crispy.
- Remove the trout from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
