Lamb Broth (shorpo)
Lamb Broth, also known as Shorpo, is a traditional Kazakh dish that is hearty, flavorful, and perfect for warming up on a cold day.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs lamb meat, cut into chunks
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 carrots, sliced
- 3 potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1 turnip, peeled and cubed
- 1 bunch fresh dill, chopped
- 1 bunch fresh parsley, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
- In a large pot, add the lamb meat and cover with water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour.
- Skim off any foam that rises to the surface.
- Add the onion, carrots, potatoes, and turnip to the pot. Simmer for an additional 30 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender.
- Stir in the fresh dill and parsley. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
