Lamb Curry (mutton Korma)
Lamb Curry, also known as Mutton Korma, is a traditional Pakistani dish that is rich in flavor and spices. This creamy and aromatic curry is a staple in Pakistani cuisine and is perfect for a hearty meal with family and friends.
Ingredients
- 1 kg lamb, cut into pieces
- 2 onions, finely sliced
- 1 cup yogurt
- 1/4 cup ghee or oil
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp red chili powder
- 1/4 tsp garam masala
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Heat ghee or oil in a large pot and add cumin seeds. Sauté until they start to crackle.
- Add sliced onions and cook until golden brown.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for 2-3 minutes.
- Add the lamb pieces and cook until they are browned on all sides.
- Stir in the chopped tomatoes, yogurt, and all the spices. Mix well.
- Cover and cook on low heat for 45-50 minutes or until the lamb is tender.
- Sprinkle garam masala and garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
