Ingredients
- 1 kg lamb, cut into cubes
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground cardamom
- 1/2 tsp ground cloves
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the onions and cook until softened.
- Add the garlic and ginger, and cook for another 2 minutes.
- Add the lamb cubes and brown on all sides.
- Stir in the tomatoes, yogurt, and all the spices. Season with salt.
- Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 1 hour or until the lamb is tender.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
