Lapland Reindeer Stew
Lapland Reindeer Stew is a traditional Finnish dish that is hearty, flavorful, and perfect for warming up on a cold winter day.
Ingredients
- 1 kg reindeer meat, cubed
- 3 large carrots, sliced
- 2 onions, chopped
- 4 potatoes, diced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup red wine
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large pot, brown the cubed reindeer meat over medium heat.
- Add the onions and carrots, and cook until the onions are translucent.
- Pour in the beef broth and red wine, then add the bay leaves and thyme.
- Season with salt and pepper, then cover and simmer for 1.5 hours.
- Add the diced potatoes and continue to simmer for another 30 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender.
- Adjust seasoning if needed, then serve hot.
