Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup sour cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat the eggs and sugar until thick and pale.
  3. Heat the honey and butter in a saucepan until the butter melts. Stir in the baking soda and cinnamon. Add the honey mixture to the egg mixture and beat well.
  4. Gradually stir in the flour until a smooth batter forms.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pans and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Let the cakes cool completely.
  7. Whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form, then fold in the sour cream.
  8. Spread the cream mixture between the cake layers, stacking them on top of each other.
  9. Refrigerate the cake for at least 4 hours before serving.
