Layered Cake (sarawakian Kek Lapis)

Ingredients

  • 500g butter
  • 300g condensed milk
  • 8 egg yolks
  • 100g sugar
  • 200g flour
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 1/2 tsp mixed spice powder
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla essence

Instructions

  1. Cream the butter and condensed milk together.
  2. Add in the egg yolks and sugar, and mix well.
  3. Sift in the flour and fold gently into the mixture.
  4. Divide the batter into different portions and add cinnamon powder, mixed spice powder, and vanilla essence to each portion to create different colored layers.
  5. Layer the different colored batters in a cake pan and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 10-15 minutes for each layer.
  6. Repeat the layering and baking process until all the batter is used up.
  7. Once the cake is baked, let it cool before slicing and serving.
