Lebanese Kofta Kebabs With Tahini Dip

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground lamb or beef
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1/4 tsp cumin
  • Salt to taste
  • Olive oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the ground meat, onion, garlic, parsley, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
  2. Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions and shape each portion into a long, sausage-like shape around a skewer.
  3. Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook the kebabs for 12-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned and cooked through.
  4. While the kebabs are cooking, prepare the tahini dip by whisking together the tahini, lemon juice, water, cumin, and salt in a small bowl.
