Lebanese Lamb Fatteh With Yogurt Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lamb, cubed
  • 2 pita bread, torn into small pieces
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup pine nuts, toasted
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the cubed lamb and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Remove the lamb from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, add the torn pita bread and toast until crispy, about 5 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the plain yogurt with minced garlic, ground cumin, and ground cinnamon. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Assemble the dish by layering the crispy pita bread on the bottom of a serving platter. Top with the cooked lamb, then drizzle the yogurt sauce over the lamb. Sprinkle with toasted pine nuts and garnish with fresh parsley.
