Leberkase
Leberkase is a traditional German meatloaf that is popular in Bavaria and Austria. It is made with finely ground corned beef, pork, and bacon, and seasoned with onions, salt, pepper, and marjoram. This savory dish is typically served sliced and enjoyed as a sandwich or with a side of potato salad.
Ingredients
- 1 lb corned beef, finely ground
- 1 lb pork, finely ground
- 1/2 lb bacon, finely chopped
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp marjoram
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, mix together the ground corned beef, pork, bacon, onion, salt, pepper, and marjoram until well combined.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, or until the top is golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
- Remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
