Ingredients

  • 10 egg yolks
  • 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 can (12 ounces) evaporated milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the egg yolks, sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and vanilla extract. Mix well until smooth.
  2. In a leche flan mold or any round mold, caramelize the brown sugar with water over low heat until it turns into a thick caramel syrup.
  3. Pour the egg mixture into the mold over the caramel syrup.
  4. Cover the mold with aluminum foil and steam for 45 minutes or until the flan is set.
  5. Let it cool then refrigerate for at least 3 hours before serving.
