Lechon Manok
Lechon Manok is a popular Filipino dish of roasted chicken marinated in a flavorful mixture of herbs and spices. It is a delicious and savory dish that is perfect for family gatherings and special occasions.
Ingredients
- 1 whole chicken, about 3-4 lbs
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon fish sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 lemon, juiced
Instructions
- Combine garlic, soy sauce, fish sauce, brown sugar, black pepper, paprika, oregano, thyme, salt, and lemon juice in a bowl to make the marinade.
- Pat the chicken dry with paper towels and rub the marinade all over the chicken, including under the skin and inside the cavity. Marinate for at least 2 hours or overnight in the refrigerator.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Place the marinated chicken on a roasting pan and roast in the preheated oven for 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Let the chicken rest for 10 minutes before carving. Serve and enjoy!
