Leek Pie (luxurious Lakror Me Presh)
Leek Pie, known as "Lakror me Presh" in Albanian cuisine, is a delicious savory pie filled with leeks, feta cheese, and herbs. This traditional dish is perfect for a hearty meal or a special occasion.
Ingredients
- 4 leeks, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup feta cheese, crumbled
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh dill, chopped
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 package of phyllo dough
- 1/2 cup melted butter
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, mix the leeks, feta cheese, parsley, dill, olive oil, salt, and pepper.
- Layer 5 sheets of phyllo dough in a greased baking dish, brushing each sheet with melted butter.
- Spread the leek mixture over the phyllo dough.
- Layer another 5 sheets of phyllo dough on top, brushing each sheet with melted butter.
- Score the top of the pie with a sharp knife to create serving portions.
- Bake for 40 minutes or until the pie is golden brown and crispy.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
