Lehsan Wala Naan (garlic Naan)
Lehsan Wala Naan, also known as Garlic Naan, is a popular flatbread in Saraiki Cuisine that is infused with the delicious flavor of garlic. It is a perfect accompaniment to curries, kebabs, and other traditional dishes.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons plain yogurt
- 2 tablespoons ghee or butter
- 1/2 cup warm water
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, minced garlic, yogurt, and the yeast mixture. Knead the dough until smooth, then cover and let it rise for 1 hour.
- Divide the dough into 4 equal portions and roll each portion into a ball. Roll out each ball into a teardrop shape.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Brush one side of the naan with water and place it water-side down in the skillet. Cook for 2 minutes, then flip and cook for an additional 2 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.
- Brush the cooked naan with ghee or butter before serving.
