Ingredients

  • 1 cup yellow lentils, soaked
  • 2 cups rice flour
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as needed

Instructions

  1. Boil the soaked lentils until soft, then drain and mash them.
  2. In a bowl, mix the mashed lentils with rice flour, onion, green chilies, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, and salt. Add water gradually to form a smooth dough.
  3. Take a small portion of the dough and shape it into a small disc. Repeat with the remaining dough.
  4. Steam the shaped dumplings for 15-20 minutes until they are cooked through.
  5. Serve the lentil dumplings hot with chutney or sauce of your choice.
