Ingredients
- 2 cups split black lentils (urad dal), soaked for 4-6 hours
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 green chilies, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- Salt to taste
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Drain the soaked lentils and grind them into a smooth batter using a blender or food processor.
- Transfer the batter to a large bowl and add the chopped onion, green chilies, ginger, cumin seeds, turmeric, and salt. Mix well.
- Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and lightly grease it with oil.
- Pour a ladleful of the batter onto the pan and spread it into a round shape to form a pancake.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
- Repeat with the remaining batter, adding more oil to the pan as needed.
- Serve the lentil pancakes hot with achar or yogurt.
