Liechtensteiner Leek and Gruyère Tart (Liechtensteiner Lauch-Gruyère-Tarte)

Ingredients

  • 1 pre-made pie crust
  • 3 large leeks, white and light green parts only, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 cup grated Gruyère cheese
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Place the pie crust in a tart pan and press it firmly into the bottom and sides. Trim any excess crust from the edges.

  7. Pour the egg and cream mixture over the leeks in the pie crust.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining Gruyère cheese on top.
  9. Bake the tart in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the filling is set and the top is golden brown.
  10. Allow the tart to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
