Ingredients

  • 4 beef roulade steaks
  • 8 slices bacon
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Place a slice of bacon on each beef roulade steak.
  2. Sprinkle the chopped onion and minced garlic over the bacon.
  3. Roll up the beef roulade and secure with toothpicks.
  4. Season the roulades with salt and pepper.
  5. Heat some oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  6. Sear the roulades until browned on all sides.
  7. Remove the roulades from the skillet and set aside.
  8. In the same skillet, add Dijon mustard and beef broth, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom.
  9. Return the roulades to the skillet and simmer for 45 minutes, or until the beef is tender.
  10. Stir in the heavy cream and simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
  11. Remove the roulades from the skillet and let rest for a few minutes before serving.
  12. Remove the toothpicks and slice the roulades.
  13. Serve with the mustard sauce spooned over the top.
