Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1/2 cup water chestnuts, finely chopped
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Shaoxing wine
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp white pepper
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups Napa cabbage, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the ground pork, water chestnuts, green onions, egg, soy sauce, Shaoxing wine, sugar, salt, and white pepper.
  2. Form the mixture into large meatballs, about 3 inches in diameter.
  3. Roll the meatballs in cornstarch to coat evenly.
  4. In a large skillet, heat some oil over medium heat. Brown the meatballs on all sides.
  5. Pour in the chicken broth and add the Napa cabbage. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through.
