Ingredients
- 4 large apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
- 1 cup all-purpose flour

- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
- In a separate large bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually mix in the flour mixture, alternating with the milk, until just combined.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared cake pan. Arrange half of the sliced apples over the batter. Repeat with the remaining batter and apples.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
