Ingredients
- 2 cups mashed potatoes
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 12 ripe plums, pitted
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup sour cream (optional, for serving)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, flour, and salt to form a dough.
- Divide the dough into small pieces and flatten each piece into a circle.
- Place a plum in the center of each dough circle and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
- Wrap the dough around the plum, sealing it completely.
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil and carefully drop the dumplings in.
- Cook for about 10-12 minutes or until the dumplings float to the surface.
- In a separate pan, melt the butter and add the bread crumbs. Cook until golden brown.
- Remove the dumplings from the water and roll them in the buttered bread crumbs.
- Serve hot with a dollop of sour cream, if desired.
