Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the sliced apples with 1/4 cup of sugar and set aside.
  3. In another bowl, beat the remaining 3/4 cup of sugar with the melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  5. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the prepared cake pan, then layer half of the apple mixture on top. Repeat with the remaining batter and apple mixture.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
