Ingredients

  • 500g white fish fillets
  • 3 large potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 200ml fish stock
  • 100ml heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Boil the diced potatoes until tender, then mash them with butter and cream. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Sauté the chopped onion in a pan until translucent, then add the fish stock and bring to a simmer.
  3. Add the fish fillets to the pan and poach for 5-7 minutes until cooked through.
  4. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  5. Place the cooked fish and onion mixture in a baking dish, then spread the mashed potatoes on top.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  7. Serve the Livonijas Zvejnieka Pīrāgs hot and enjoy!
