  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour three 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the eggs and sugar until thick and pale. Stir in the honey and sour cream.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until well combined. Fold in the chopped walnuts.
  4. Divide the batter evenly among the prepared cake pans. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cakes to cool completely.
  5. In a chilled bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Spread a layer of whipped cream between each cake layer, then frost the top and sides of the cake with the remaining whipped cream.
  6. Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld together.
