Lok Lak (cambodian Beef Lok Lak)
Lok Lak is a popular Cambodian dish featuring tender strips of beef marinated in a flavorful sauce and quickly stir-fried. This dish is often served with a side of fresh vegetables and a tangy dipping sauce, making it a delicious and satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 tomato, sliced
- Lettuce leaves, for serving
- Lime wedges, for serving
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the beef, garlic, oyster sauce, soy sauce, sugar, and black pepper. Marinate for 10-15 minutes.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a pan over high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- Heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of oil in the same pan. Add the onion and tomato, and stir-fry for 1-2 minutes.
- Return the cooked beef to the pan and stir-fry for an additional minute to heat through.
- Serve the Lok Lak on a bed of lettuce leaves with lime wedges on the side.
