Ingredients

  • 500g beef brisket, sliced
  • 2 pieces of ginger, sliced
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tbsp Sichuan peppercorns
  • 2 tbsp chili bean paste
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Chinese cooking wine
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1.5L water
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. In a pot, add the beef brisket, ginger, and green onions. Cover with water and bring to a boil. Skim off any foam that rises to the surface.
  2. Add the Sichuan peppercorns, chili bean paste, soy sauce, cooking wine, and sugar. Simmer for 1 hour until the beef is tender.
  3. Season with salt to taste and serve hot.
