Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet dry yeast
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 cups warm water
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Honey, for drizzling
  • Cinnamon, for sprinkling
  • Chopped nuts, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the flour, dry yeast, sugar, and salt.
  2. Add the warm water gradually and mix until the batter is smooth. Cover the bowl with a kitchen towel and let it rise for 1 hour.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pot over medium heat.
  4. Scoop spoonfuls of the batter and carefully drop them into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown, then remove and drain on paper towels.
  5. Drizzle the loukoumades with honey, sprinkle with cinnamon, and garnish with chopped nuts.
