Ingredients
- 2 cups water
- 4 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup cornstarch
- 1 tsp rose water
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup cornstarch for dusting
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine water and granulated sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
- In a small bowl, mix 1 cup of cornstarch with 1 cup of water to create a smooth paste.
- Gradually pour the cornstarch paste into the saucepan while stirring continuously.
- Add rose water and continue to cook the mixture, stirring constantly, until it thickens and becomes translucent.
- Pour the mixture into a greased pan and let it cool to room temperature. Then refrigerate for 4 hours or until set.
- Cut the set loukoumia into small squares and dust with a mixture of powdered sugar and cornstarch.
