Ingredients

  • 1 cup chestnuts, peeled

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Shaoxing wine
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add ginger, garlic, and green onions. Sauté until fragrant.
  3. Add chicken pieces and cook until browned on all sides.
  4. Pour in soy sauce, Shaoxing wine, sugar, and salt. Stir to coat the chicken.
  5. Add chestnuts and chicken broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 45 minutes, or until the chicken is tender.
  6. Transfer the chicken and chestnuts to a serving plate. Increase the heat to thicken the sauce if desired.
  7. Pour the sauce over the chicken and chestnuts. Serve hot and enjoy!
