Ingredients
- 1 whole chicken, cut into pieces
- 1 cup chestnuts, peeled
- 3 slices ginger
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon Shaoxing wine
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium heat.
- Add ginger, garlic, and green onions. Sauté until fragrant.
- Add chicken pieces and cook until browned on all sides.
- Pour in soy sauce, Shaoxing wine, sugar, and salt. Stir to coat the chicken.
- Add chestnuts and chicken broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 45 minutes, or until the chicken is tender.
- Transfer the chicken and chestnuts to a serving plate. Increase the heat to thicken the sauce if desired.
- Pour the sauce over the chicken and chestnuts. Serve hot and enjoy!
