Ingredients
- 1 whole chicken, cut into pieces
- 1 cup chestnuts, peeled
- 3 slices ginger
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon Shaoxing wine
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a wok over medium heat. Add ginger, garlic, and green onions. Stir-fry until fragrant.
- Add chicken pieces to the wok and stir-fry until the chicken turns golden brown.
- Pour in soy sauce, Shaoxing wine, sugar, and salt. Stir well to coat the chicken.
- Add chestnuts and chicken broth to the wok. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 45 minutes, or until the chicken is tender.
- Transfer the braised chicken with chestnuts to a serving dish and garnish with chopped green onions.

Tips & tricks
