लखनवी मुर्ग़ बिरयानी (Lucknowi Murg Biryani) is a classic dish from the Uttar Pradesh Cuisine, known for its rich flavors and aromatic spices.
Ingredients
- 2 cups basmati rice
- 500g chicken, cut into pieces
- 1 cup yogurt
- 2 onions, thinly sliced
- 4 tomatoes, chopped
- 1/4 cup ghee
- 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves
- 1/4 cup fresh coriander leaves
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- Whole spices (cinnamon, cardamom, cloves)
- Saffron strands soaked in milk
Instructions
- Wash and soak the basmati rice for 30 minutes.
- Marinate the chicken with yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, and salt for 1 hour.
- Heat ghee in a pan and sauté the onions until golden brown.
- Add the marinated chicken and cook until tender.
- Layer the cooked chicken, rice, mint leaves, and coriander leaves in a heavy-bottomed pan.
- Sprinkle saffron milk and fried onions on top.
- Cover and cook on low heat until the rice is done.
