Ingredients

  • 500g mutton, cut into pieces
  • 2 onions, finely sliced
  • 4 tbsp ghee (clarified butter)
  • 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 4 cups water
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat ghee in a heavy-bottomed pot and sauté the onions until golden brown.
  2. Add the ginger-garlic paste and cook until the raw smell disappears.
  3. Add the mutton pieces and cook until they are browned.
  4. Stir in the turmeric, red chili powder, coriander powder, and garam masala.
  5. Pour in the water, add salt, and bring to a boil.
  6. Reduce the heat, cover the pot, and let it simmer for 2-3 hours until the meat is tender.
  7. Adjust the seasoning and serve hot.
