Lumpia Satay (tempeh Satay Wraps)
Lumpia Satay, also known as Tempeh Satay Wraps, is a delicious Indonesian-Indian fusion dish that combines the flavors of tempeh satay with the convenience of lumpia wraps. This recipe is perfect for a quick and flavorful appetizer or snack.
Ingredients
- 12 lumpia wrappers
- 1 block of tempeh, cut into cubes
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 12 bamboo skewers, soaked in water
- Oil for cooking
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together the soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, coriander, cumin, turmeric, and cayenne pepper. Add the tempeh cubes and marinate for 15 minutes.
- Thread the marinated tempeh cubes onto the soaked bamboo skewers.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Cook the tempeh skewers for 2-3 minutes on each side, until golden brown and cooked through.
- Place a cooked tempeh skewer on a lumpia wrapper and roll it up, folding the sides in as you go.
- Repeat with the remaining tempeh skewers and wrappers.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Cook the wrapped tempeh skewers for 2-3 minutes on each side, until the wrappers are golden brown and crispy.
- Serve the lumpia satay with your favorite dipping sauce.
