Ingredients

  • 500g thinly sliced beef
  • 300g lamb, thinly sliced
  • 200g shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 300g tofu, cubed
  • 200g enoki mushrooms
  • 150g Chinese cabbage, chopped
  • 100g lotus root, thinly sliced
  • 100g glass noodles
  • 4 cups chicken or beef broth
  • 1/2 cup Sichuan peppercorns
  • 1/4 cup chili oil
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 4 green onions, sliced
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 piece ginger, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon sugar

Instructions

  1. Prepare the broth by bringing the chicken or beef broth to a boil in a large pot. Add the Sichuan peppercorns, chili oil, soy sauce, green onions, garlic, ginger, and sugar. Simmer for 15 minutes.
  2. Arrange the beef, lamb, shrimp, tofu, mushrooms, Chinese cabbage, lotus root, and glass noodles on separate plates.
  3. Place the prepared ingredients around the simmering broth on the stovetop.
  4. Allow each person to cook their desired ingredients in the broth using chopsticks or a small strainer.
  5. Enjoy the cooked ingredients with steamed rice and dipping sauces.
