Maamoul Tamer (date And Walnut Maamoul Cookies)
Maamoul Tamer, also known as Date and Walnut Maamoul Cookies, is a traditional Levantine dessert that is popular during festive occasions such as Eid and Easter.
Ingredients
- 2 cups semolina
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 cup pitted dates, chopped
- 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix the semolina, melted butter, sugar, and milk until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, mix the chopped dates, walnuts, and ground cinnamon.
- Take a small portion of the semolina dough and flatten it in your palm.
- Place a small amount of the date and walnut mixture in the center of the dough.
- Close the dough around the filling, shaping it into a ball or using a maamoul mold for a decorative pattern.
- Place the filled cookies on a baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 15-20 minutes, or until the bottoms are golden brown.
- Allow the maamoul cookies to cool before serving.
