Пастрмајлија (Pastrmajlija) is a traditional Macedonian dish, similar to a pizza, topped with marinated meat and spices. It is a popular dish in Macedonian cuisine and is often enjoyed as a hearty meal.

Ingredients

  • 500g pizza dough
  • 300g pork or beef, thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 red pepper, sliced
  • 100g feta cheese, crumbled
  • 2 tbsp sunflower oil
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 220°C (425°F).
  2. Roll out the pizza dough on a baking sheet to form a large oval or rectangular shape.
  3. In a bowl, mix the sliced meat, chopped onion, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Spread the marinated meat mixture evenly over the dough.
  5. Arrange the sliced tomatoes and red pepper on top of the meat.
  6. Sprinkle the crumbled feta cheese over the vegetables.
  7. Drizzle the sunflower oil over the entire pastrmajlija.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the meat is cooked through.
  9. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
