Macedonian Tavče Gravče (Тавче Гравче)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups dried white beans
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup sunflower oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 cups water

Instructions

  1. Soak the dried white beans in water overnight.
  2. Drain the beans and place them in a large pot.
  3. Add the chopped onion, diced tomatoes, minced garlic, sunflower oil, paprika, salt, and black pepper to the pot.
  4. Pour in the water and stir to combine all the ingredients.
  5. Cover the pot and cook over medium heat for 1 hour, or until the beans are tender.
  6. Serve the Tavče Gravče hot, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.
