Macedonian Turli Tava (Турли Тава)

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lamb, cubed
  • 1 lb beef, cubed
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, diced
  • 2 potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1 eggplant, cubed
  • 1 zucchini, sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add the lamb and beef, and cook until browned.
  3. Add the onion and garlic, and sauté until softened.
  4. Stir in the tomatoes, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
  5. Add the potatoes, eggplant, zucchini, and bell peppers to the pot.
  6. Pour in the water, cover, and simmer for 1 hour, or until the meat is tender.
  7. Adjust the seasoning if needed, and serve hot.
