Madora Cheese Sticks (mopani Mozzarella Sticks)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup dried mopani worms
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, cut into sticks
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • Oil for frying
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, soak the dried mopani worms in warm water for 5 minutes, then drain and pat dry.
  2. Season the mopani worms with salt and pepper.
  3. Take a mozzarella stick and wrap it with a seasoned mopani worm.
  4. Coat the wrapped mozzarella stick in flour, then dip it in the beaten eggs, and finally coat it with breadcrumbs.
  5. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and fry the coated mozzarella sticks until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Remove the sticks from the oil and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  7. Serve the Madora Cheese Sticks hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
