Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 packet instant yeast
  • 1 ½ cups warm water
  • Oil for deep-frying

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast.
  2. Add the warm water gradually and knead the dough until it's smooth and elastic.
  3. Cover the dough and let it rise for about 1 hour.
  4. After the dough has risen, heat the oil in a deep pot or fryer.
  5. Pinch off small balls of dough and carefully place them in the hot oil.
  6. Fry the magwinyas until they are golden brown on all sides.
  7. Remove the fried magwinyas and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  8. Serve the magwinyas warm and enjoy!
